Company Driver Jobs at Decker

Decker Truck Line hires OTR company drivers for long haul freight loads. This includes reefer drivers and flatbed drivers. The company has a Reefer/Van division, as well as a Flatbed division.

Guaranteed Pay for Drivers

One of the ways that Decker Truck Line takes care of its truck drivers is with several types of guaranteed pay. For starters, company drivers in OTR reefer and dry van and flatbed trucking jobs are eligible for the following pay types:

  • Automatic detention pay of $15 per hour for company drivers during on-time deliveries and up to $150 per 24 hours
  • Tarping pay for flatbed drivers at $15 to tarp or untarp a load, with the exception of short hauls utilizing backhauls
  • Breakdown pay

Truck drivers at Decker Truck Line are also eligible for actual guaranteed pay. The company pays a guaranteed salary of:

  • $1,350 a week for flatbed truck drivers
  • $1,250 a week for reefer truck drivers

Keep in mind this is just the guaranteed minimum you’ll earn a week. The company pays its drivers:

  • 42 to 52 cents per mile for Midwestern flatbed trucking jobs
  • 39 to 50 cents per mile for Midwestern reefer and dry van trucking jobs

These jobs include a 10 CPM per diem pay and up to 4 CPM in monthly bonus pay. Plus, drivers earn $5,000 paid in a retention bonus after one year with the company.

Decker Truck Line Driver Salary

As a trucker working at Decker Truck Line driver salary averages at $76,383 a year for Class A drivers according to Glassdoor. Glassdoor also reports a monthly income of $2,082, but we know this to be far too low based on guaranteed pay at the carrier.

By calculating the weekly guaranteed minimum pay, you automatically see you will earn at least $5,400 a month working for Decker Truck Line as a flatbed driver. Multiply this to determine your annual average salary will be $64,800. Of course, this is base pay and without the bonus program and other types of guaranteed pay, i.e., detention pay.

For reefer and dry van truck drivers, the monthly pay is on average $5,000, which is $60,000 a year. Again, this is base pay before you tack on the other bonus pay programs at Decker Truck Line.
